I have been teaching yoga for ten years after completing my 200 hour training and I am just finishing my 300 hour training. I specialize in gentle, therapeutic and restorative yoga. I am also studying Somatic Yoga. I have studied with David Lurey, Gabriel Halpern, Matthew Sanford, Todd Norian and Betsy Downing.
When I was one year old, polio weakened my legs and made walking normally a constant challenge. Practicing yoga for over 40 years has helped me cope with stiff muscles and pain and improved my posture. Yoga helped me lead a very exciting and rewarding life including many careers. As I have aged, I have faced additional physical challenges and have decided my goal in life is to age with grace and dignity and just in case that fails (and I know it will) rely on a good sense of humor.
I believe there is a yoga practice for everyone. I encourage my students to listen and focus on what their bodies need today, to strive to become a compassionate yet determined caregiver of their own body and to get in touch with all that is beautiful within them, their glorious spirit.
