The practice of yoga has transformed me slowly and organically, helping me continually evolve physically, spiritually and mentally. It was this awareness that brought me to the realization that I wanted to share the practice of yoga with others.

As the father of modern yoga, T. KrIshnamacharya said, "Teach what you practice, practice what you teach." My life practice involves being a wife, mother, schoolteacher, student of yoga and yoga teacher.  Yoga helps me find the necessary clarity to find the opportunities for growth in all of these different roles. Sometimes I am the teacher, sometimes I am the student. In the role of yoga teacher, I look forward to both sharing and receiving the gift of the practice with you.

I believe the attraction of yoga is that it provides freedom, space and the introspective capability to draw our attention inward to discover what makes us intrinsically who we are.  It brings an awareness of breath, body and mind. Through a consistent and dedicated yoga practice, a deeper level of self-awareness is created which makes it easier to quiet the mind, achieve an improved sense of mental clarity and develop the ability to love ourselves to the fullest. Although everyone’s life’s journey is different and we don’t get to choose all of the variables, the practice of yoga gives direction while inspiring us to be present and enjoy the ride.

I earned my teacher training certification through Blue Sun Yoga and am also certified to teach yoga to teenagers and children through Mission Propelle.I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from DePaul, Master of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, and a Masters in Education in Reading from St. Xavier University.

When I'm not spending time with my family or teaching classes, you can usually find me enjoying coffee and dark chocolate while pursuing another life-long learning adventure!
