Yoga businesses and gyms are allowed to reopen during Phase 4 of Restore Illinois which takes effect on Friday, June 26th. We are planning to reopen on Monday, July 13th as we need more time to prepare the studio for social distancing, coordinate teacher schedules, and work on a new set-up.
We are working on a new and limited In-Studio class schedule and will continue to offer Online classes for the foreseeable future. Our class sizes will be limited and require pre-registration. We’ve been hard at work revamping our website and our studio space to accommodate for online class package sales as well as pre-registering for class. Our new website is planned to be launched when we reopen on Monday, July 13th. Also, subscribe to our email list by scrolling to the bottom of any page on our site to find out about Pop-Up Outdoor yoga classes. We will keep you posted on when those will be held. Each outdoor class will require you to sign a waiver and pay $12 by cash or check only — or you may use class packages that you purchased before Covid-19 closed our doors.
Rest assured we will take appropriate measures to keep you safe, including social-distancing, mask-wearing, and sanitizing starting in July.
Our top priority is student and staff safety so we will be strictly following any suggested CDC recommendations and state guidelines. When we resume in-person classes, we will also continue our online offerings.
Studio cleanliness is of the utmost importance and we will have multiple options in place to increase cleanliness and sanitation.
TBY will require masks upon entrance to the studio. Per state guidelines and CDC recommendations, we will require that everyone wear masks while in the studio. The exception to this will be when practicing on the mat during class. When leaving the mat to take a break of any kind, a mask will need to be worn. Additionally, we will have spacers in our big studio so that each student can be six feet apart. We will no longer be holding classes in our small studio space as this is now our virtual studio. The yogis who attend our studio span all age groups and health statuses so we are doing everything possible to protect the health of everyone who walks through our doors.
We will have an entry door and an exit door into and out of our physical building and we will ensure that there is the time between classes to properly clean and sanitize. At this time, we will only be able to offer yoga blocks. You will be required to bring in your own mat, blanket and strap. You may use our bolsters if you cover them with a pillowcase from home. This may change as we look for ways to keep our props sanitary so they can be used. Our class pricing structure will also be changing in order to keep our yoga studio sustainable.
If you have a class package, you would help our small business to survive by donating the remainder of your classes. We don’t expect this, but a few students have offered this as a way to help a small business trying to get back on its feet. If you’d rather use your class packages toward outdoor yoga classes, Zoom classes, or yoga videos on our website – email Julia Jonson firstname.lastname@example.org for guidance.
Thank you for trusting us to guide you through yoga practice which is all about adaptability! Please be patient with us. This has taken a huge toll on our emotional and physical well-being and we want to stay in business and continue to provide you with yoga. Thank you in advance for your understanding. We will get through this and we appreciate your support.
