While yoga is an ancient system of philosophy and well-being for the body, mind, and spirit--it continues to be relevant in our modern world. Yoga postures (called asanas), breathwork and meditation calm and soothe the central nervous system and also activate it in a healthy way. Yoga poses are also an excellent way to make your body stronger and more flexible. In this workshop, you will learn the key postures that will prepare you to take basics level yoga classes at Total Body Yoga. You will get handouts on the benefits of yoga and a basic understanding of what to expect when you take classes. This three-part series will also include a brief overview of the history of yoga, how it's grown in the modern world and some common misconceptions about the practice.
We recommend that you take all three classes of this series in order to feel prepared to enter either a restorative, gentle basics or basics level class at Total Body Yoga. If you can only attend one module we recommend attending the first of three in the series.
