Linda Benton

Linda specalizes in teaching yoga to students with scoliosis. She completed her training with Certified Senior Iyengar Teacher Elise Browning Miller.

In addition to earning her Yoga for Scoliosis certification, Linda interns with Nancy Fox (formerly DL Heraty), a respected certified yoga therapist, who co-authored the book Yoga for Scoliosis, with Elise Browning Miller. Linda also studies with renowned master teacher Gabriel Halpern and apprentices in his therapeutic yoga classes at the Yoga Circle in Chicago. Additionally, Linda continues weekly teacher training with other senior teachers to maintain a current, informed and fresh approach to yoga.

Linda turned to restorative yoga in 2005 to help manage injuries from years of working out. She loved it so much, she trained and began teaching in 2008. Linda then delved deeper into the study of philosophy and practice, earning her 200-hour certification in 2010 and is currently an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) with the Yoga Alliance.

Linda’s teaching is a reflection of her own practice and studies. While she’s known for her precision and well-organized lessons, she also utilizes a classical Hatha yoga style in her teachings. Linda feels this approach helps students to quiet their minds by connecting with breath and body, but most importantly heart. Students who take Linda’s classes describe them as interactive, informative and fun.
