Mary's passion for yoga began in 2005 when she stepped on to her yoga mat for the very first time. She realized her desire to share the gift of yoga with others and completed her 200 hour teacher training with House of Shanti in 2012. Mary's classes are sequenced to support the whole physical body; designed to create movement in the body to promote a healthy immune system, build strength and stability, improve balance and find the rhythmic power of the breath. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, Mary maintained a regular yoga practice through her recovery from a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and numerous surgeries. She attributes the healing components of the yoga practice to her ability to overcome the lingering side affects of a cancer diagnosis. This life experience led her to seek an additional certification as a Yoga for Cancer (y4c) teacher 2015.
