I started practicing yoga 14 years ago. It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my first son that I truly fell in love with the practice. The prenatal yoga classes showed me that yoga was so much more than just physical strength. It taught me about connection, community, and about feeling the practice within myself, not just in my body.
After prenatal yoga, life happened and I started drowning in new motherhood. Yoga was my safe place, my mat my sanctuary to calm my inner and outer chaos. Every time I practiced, I felt better, more calm, and not as focused about controlling everything in my path. As I continued to practice, the benefits of yoga were transformational. I stopped worrying what my poses looked like and rather how they felt in my body. I took this off the mat and stopped worrying so much about what other people thought and how I was actually feeling. Yoga helped me reduce anxiety, let go of so much I was holding onto, and find balance between motherhood, work, and self, and ultimately acceptance. The shifts I experienced in my own life motivated me to push any fear aside and step into teacher training. I received my 200 hour certification from Blue Sun Yoga in 2015.
My teaching style is rooted in Hatha with a heavy focus on alignment, teaching students to be present, and connect with their breath. In my classes, I strive to create a welcoming, nurturing, and un-intimidating environment where my students feel safe to travel within and connect with themselves, I am grateful for all of my teachers and for all that I continue to learn. And of course, I am beyond grateful for my students, who inspire me every single day. Seeing them evolve in their bodies, finding peace within, and trusting me to be part of their journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
